DAVID DOANE FIELD

To help celebrate the 60th anniversary of professional baseball in San Diego in 1996, the San Diego Padres baseball club began refurbishing baseball diamonds where youngsters throughout the region (including Baja California) could play ball in clean, safe settings. Through club funding, corporate, community and fan support, the Padres have dedicated 42 Little Padres Parks. Little Padres Parks have big-league landscaping, scoreboards, and signature palm trees in the outfield.

League President at the time David Doane, applied and was granted the help of the Padres. Lemon Grove Little League Lemon Grove Dedicated was held in March 25th 2006.

As both president of Lemon Grove Little League, and board member for District 66, David’s 20 years of service to the Lemon Grove community was recognized and awarded with a Key-to-the-City. Part of his legacy lives forever at DAVID DOANE FIELD.
